My vision as an administrative leader is to ensure that all students succeed in achieving their academic, artistic, and athletic goals by creating a student-centered learning environment that fosters an equality of opportunity and equity of resources, encourages trust, honesty, and integrity, engenders compassion, and promotes high standards of excellence and expectations.
A student-centered learning environment begins by employing highly qualified personnel who strive to use innovation, technology, and research-based teaching methods to reach all students under their stewardship and places them on the path to success. In addition, it is essential to implement policies, procedures, and protocols that create a safe and secure learning environment for all students and members of staff. Finally, it is imperative to keep the lines of communication open to ensure that all stakeholders have a voice in accomplishing the vision and mission of the school.
As an administrative leader, I am determined to provide the students in my care with equal access to a variety of educational programming. Demographic data such as location or wealth should not limit a child’s opportunity to acquire knowledge from specialized subjects such as engineering, architecture, marketing, photography, television production, or the Arts. Additionally, I firmly believe that students deserve an equity of resources such as specialized teaching staff, increased use of technology, and access to basic needs such as school supplies, clothing, or food. My goal is to create a pathway to success for all students and I will do everything in my power to ensure that nothing stands in their way.
Administrative leaders must possess outstanding moral character and exude the qualities of trust, honesty, and integrity. A student-centered learning environment does not happen by accident. As the administrative leader, I must take all stakeholders through the process of building trusting and honest relationships in order to create a strong foundation for a positive climate and culture within my school. Furthermore, I believe that compassion for others plays a large role in the success of a school as well. Therefore, I will approach all disciplinary actions with a calm mind and fair attitude but never compromise school safety. I will do everything in my power to help all those in my stewardship, both teachers and students, who are struggling to meet expectations in the classroom or are trying to overcome obstacles with mental or physical health, addiction, abuse, or poverty. Finally, in order to maintain a positive, student-centered learning environment I will celebrate the successes of my students and staff in meaningful ways.
Administrative leaders must establish a culture of high standards of excellence and expectations for every person in the school in order to accomplish the school’s vision. Requiring quality work, maintaining deadlines, developing highly effective teachers, and working collaboratively will provide a routine of accountability and professionalism that will ensure excellence in all aspects of school life.
I believe in myself. I am a brilliant strategist, exceptional motivator, skilled problem-solver, and I have an unyielding determination to create a student-centered learning environment that champions academic, artistic, and athletic excellence.
